This bird looks like he’s making a deliberate-concentrated choice to keep his mouth shut. That’s really hard to do, especially if you’ve been unfairly misunderstood. During this Easter season I’m reminded of how Jesus handled being misunderstood and horrible unfair treatment. He was flogged, mocked, crowned with thorns and slapped in the face. Yet even in the pain and insults He did not speak or retaliate. Instead, He willingly, lovingly, and humbly went to the cross and died for ME and YOU.
He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. Isaiah 53:7
