These birds look like they both have something to say. This reminds me of how easy it is to be thinking about what you want to say while the other person is talking, instead of listening to what that person is saying. I have found that listening requires self-discipline. It’s a challenge to slow myself down and stop what I’m doing and listen when I feel like I have lots to do. It’s a comfort to know that God doesn’t get in a hurry. He always has time for us. God is willing and quick to listen.
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. James 1:19
